While there, the entire household suffered from dysentery from which seven of the family died, including Phineas' wife Abigail.2 Phineas Kingsley married Abigail Woods on 11 February 1779.2 Phineas Kingsley died on 25 May 1825 at Rutland, Vermont, at age 74.2

Theodore Julius Krafft was educated at Lyceum, Zweibrucken, Germany.4 He was educated in 1831 at Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Germany.4 "In 1832, after a family consultation, his uncle [Theodore Erasmus Hilgard] sent him and a cousin, Edward Hilgard, to the United States to finda a location where the family might settle. Tehy started on their journey in May, 1832, in a sailing-vessel from Bremen, and landed on American shores the following July. They at once went to Rochester, N.Y., on the Erie Canal, where the cholera waws at that time ragin, but left it behind them at that city, and pursued their journey Westward. They remained on a farm in the vicinity of Pittsburgh the following winter, and the next spring they traveled over Illinois and Missouri, and finally selected St. Clair County, Ill., as the scene of their future operations."4 Graduated from Heidelberg University at age 19.
              Resided for a time in Philadelphia, taking out his first naturalization papers and played flute in the Philharmonic Orchestra.
              Buried in Green Mount Cemetary, Belleville, Illinois. There is a tall obelisk marker bearing the inscription: 'An Honest Man is the Loftiest Mark of God.'
